Description:

Uncommon Apollo Command Module In-Flight Coverall Garment (ICG) Pants made for astronaut Neil Armstrong and used in training for the Apollo 11 moon mission. The original tag is sewn inside the pants reading: "Coverall Trousers, P/N: BW-1060-001, Size: LR, S/N: 1001, Subject: Armstrong, Contract No. NAS 9-8309, Date of Mfg.: 10-30-68, Mfg. By: Welson Co." The trousers feature a snap-adjustable elastic waistband with double-snap closure, zippered fly, and large cargo pockets above the ankles. These trousers are in very good condition condition with with visible staining and light wear from use. The In-Flight Coverall Garment was developed by NASA to offer far more flexibility than the bulky spacesuit, so astronauts changed into these after launch to be more comfortable during their long flight. This ICG Trousers manufactured during Neil Armstrong's intensive training for the Apollo 11 first landing on the moon, was likely used as a training article. Armstrong would go on to become the first man to walk on the surface of the moon. -- 12" x 12" x 6"
