Description:

A RARE .22 PARKER HALE DRAGON MKII SIDE-LEVER SINGLE-STROKE PNEUMATIC AIR RIFLE, serial no 0643,
circa 1995, with blued exposed floating 22 1/2in. barrel threaded for a sound moderator (absent), machined receiver with twist and pull bolt, the left side marked 'PARKER HALE DRAGON' over 'MADE IN ENGLAND' and 'MKII', chequered walnut right hand stock, blued under-barrel pump-housing with articulated cocking lever, requires seals but much finish remaining and fitted with a Simmons 4x40 telescopic sight (turret covers absent)

Provenance: The Dragon was one of two air-rifle models designed for the Birmingham firm of Parker Hale in the 1990's by Graham Bluck, the other being the Phoenix. The MkII Dragon was identical to the MkI with the only difference being the hardened valve of the MkII. The Dragon only saw limited success, and was beset with production problems from the start. Sadly, the Phoenix faired little better and the company folded soon after its introduction, being acquired by John Rothery Wholesale, who did not pursue the air-rifle. PAX Airguns introduced a MkII version of the Phoenix around 2004, which still has quite a following
