Description:

An antique Edison Gem cylinder player phonograph featuring a dome-shaped, lidded wooden cabinet with a winding crank on the side. The player displays an "EDISON" mark on the front and has a metal plaque with manufacturer details and patent dates affixed to the back. Accompanying the phonograph is a horn with a fluted, octagonal design, which retains the original manufacturer's decals on the side. The phonograph is included with 11 antique Edison cylinders and four empty cardboard cylinder cases. The measurements for the phonograph do not include the crank. The unit alone measures approximately 8" x 10" x 7.5", The horn measures approximately 20" x 12" x 12", while the music cylinders measure around 4" x 2.25" x 2.25".

Condition: Good to fair overall antique condition having mild to moderate age related wear and patina. Untested, and may require service, parts, and/or repair. The cylinders are in good to fair condition, but have not been tested. The cylinder cases are in fair condition with heavy age related wear. Estate fresh to the market.

Shipping: Hill Auction Gallery does not offer in-house shipping for this item. Gallery will refer third party shippers for all domestic and international buyers. Purchaser pick up available upon request.

Storage Fees: Oversize items, including items with "We Will Not Ship" listed in the lot description must be removed from our gallery within 15 Days after the auction, or will be subject to a $10 per lot, per day storage fee, unless other arrangements are made with the gallery.
