  • Description: Working Circa 1745 Nathanial Styles London 22K Gold Repousse Pear Case Chain Drive Antique Pocket Watch. We have x-rayed this at 22K yellow gold and the outside pear case weighs 35.5g. We estimate the inside heavy case weighs approximately the same with close to a total 70g of 22K gold! We believe this has over $6000 worth of scrap gold and we would very much like to save it from the refinery so we’ve started the bidding at $5000. Watch runs for many hours but does not keep excellent time. The Greco-Roman scenes on these watches are usually heavily worn but this one still maintains immaculate detail for age. The case surround features scenic homes, houses, and floral motifs while the case back features a Greco-Roman warrior woman holding a staff, another woman fawning over her, two women in the gallery looking at them, and a bearded older man gazing at them from the side. A truly extraordinary piece! Includes key.
  • Condition: Immaculately preserved for age! White dial shows minor spotting, minor debris, and a small chip under the 6 index caused by the opening mechanism. Glass crystal shows minor debris but minimal use. Case surround and case back show minimal use overall. See photos for details.
  • Movement Condition: Movement is running but not keeping excellent time. For optimum timekeeping accuracy we suggest an overhaul at buyers expense
