Description: Elvis Presley's Personalized Saddle Brown Leather Bible Given to Personal Maid/Cook Nancy Rooks W/(2) LOAs - This personalized bible was owned by Elvis Presley before he gave it to his personal maid and cook, Nancy Rooks, who was Elvis' personal maid and cook at Graceland from 1967-1977 and continued to work at Graceland until 1992. The brown colored leather bound bible has "Elvis Presley" embossed in gold on the front, 23k gold leaf edges and the inscription "December 15, 1973 E.P. bible given to Nancy Rooks his maid" written in black ink on the inside front page. Elvis was reading this bible one morning in December, 1973 while waiting for breakfast, and Rooks asked him if she could have it to which Elvis obliged. The bible will be accompanied by a hand written letter from Rooks detailing the morning's events, along with a second letter from Stephen Shutts. Shutts has been a well known collector and broker of Elvis, country music and pop culture memorabilia for over 20 years, and has worked with entities including the CMA, Brooks & Dunn, Hugh Hefner & Playboy, Dick Clark, among others. Shutts also had a CMT reality TV series based on his life collection Rock N' Roll memorabilia.
